Nick Cannon, the father of 12 children, has one simple reason why he’s “not done” having more children yet.
On a March 17 episode of We Playin’ Spades with Nick Cannon and Courtney Bee, the Masked Singer host was joined by co-hosts Ryan Clark and Channing Crowder of The Pivot sports podcast.
The former NFL players were discussing the recent influx of Black men getting vasectomies, both disclosing they underwent the procedure after three kids.
When the conversation turned to Nick, the father of 12 children with six women, he suggested that while it’s a “responsible” thing to do, he has a specific reason why he’s not ready to follow through.
Nick shares twins Moroccan and Monroe with ex-wife Mariah Carey.
He shares sons Golden Sagon and Rise Messiah and daughter Powerful Queen with Brittany Bell.
He shares twins Zion Mixolydian, Zillion Heir, and daughter Beautiful Zeppelin with Abby De La Rosa.
He shares his son Legendary Love with Bre Tiesi.
He shares daughter Onyx Ice Cole with LaNisha Cole.
And, Nick is the father of two children with Alyssa Scott — his son Zen, who died from brain cancer at five months old in 2021, and a daughter Halo Marie.
Aware of Nick’s history, Channing turned his attention from their personal vasectomy stories and said, “It’s another man at this table that needs to think about that shit.”
When everyone focused on Nick, he responded, jokingly, “Feel like this is an intervention.”
The Wild N’ Out creator said that getting a vasectomy is the “responsible thing to do” as a father of 12 children, but added, “I just — I’m not done.”
When Courtney asked whether or not Nick would have another baby with one of the women he’s already had child with or a new person, he replied, “I don’t know. That’s the thing.”
Nick opened up about being the father of multiple children in the past on a December 2022 episode of the docuseries The Checkup with Dr. David Agus on Paramount+, saying, “Being a father of multiple kids, it’s always the biggest guilt on me is that I don’t get to spend enough time with all my children. One ’cause I’m constantly working and two because I’m just spread thin.”
Back in June 2024, he told People what it was like with his kids, like on Father’s Day, which caused a stir on the internet. “It’s definitely one of those days where I got be on my Ps and Qs the entire day,” he said. “It’s supposed to be a day where I get to rest, but I want to give all my kids the opportunity to connect and give me gifts, and all that type of stuff.”
I wish Nick all the best and whatever the Lord’s plan may be for him and his fatherhood.
