“Went on a hike in the summer with some friends and acquaintances. I biked there, so I had water for the 10 mile ride there, water for the six mile hike, and water for the 10 mile ride back which would take place around noon and be 100ºF. Total activity time of around five hours.”
“Carried all that water with me in a backpack. Probably 120 ounce. I got to the meet up spot and locked up. Another person drove, brought a 12 ounce plastic bottle of water, and left it in her car because she didn’t want to carry it. Not even half-way through the hike, she asked for some of my water. I’ve never voluntarily spent time with her since.”
